It seems that we lost our Intarwebs last night at about 1845 Eastern. Losing the connection sometimes means that the router here at The Manor needs a reset so I did that but to no avail. The link came up but the router couldn't log in and couldn't pull an IP address. My ISP's upstream provider has a history of RADIUS problems and this acts like just that kind of thing.
The logs show that at almost exactly 0500 it suddenly started working again. I guess someone got into work and discovered to their horror that they had customers that were offline all night. Might want to work on that paging system, fellas.
Anyway, it appears that everything is back to normal. Sorry for the annoyance.
Nothing about it on the ISPs status page so I'll give them a ping later today and see if they know what happened.
Today, the last Friday in July, is System Administrator's Day.
If your blog works, if your website serves up pages, if your email arrives, if you can post on Facebook or Twitter or use WiFi, somewhere a sysadmin racked the server, installed and configured the software, ran the cables, fixed it when it broke and planned for future fixes and upgrades.
If you enjoy having these things available to you, thank a sysadmin.

There is now a WordPress plugin for mobile devices and I has it.
This is possible thanks to Crowd Favorite.
